COMMUNITY PROFILE
Founded in 2020, as a resource for Somali families, the Somali Canadian Association of Niagara Peninsula (SCANP) educates, serves, and organizes cultural and life-skill training programs in an effort to promote self-sufficiency among the individuals and families Somali community in the Niagara Region.
Our Mission
We advocate and promote self-sufficiency for families through employment, education, cultural and social support and economic empowerment. We serve elders, working adults, teens and children.
Our Programs
Our goal is to help people through programs that develop community support, provide language services & education, develop job skills and increase the chance of employment, and connect people with supportive services and resources.
Support Services
SCANP offers a variety of services to support the Somali community in day to day life. Some examples of our work;
Help with searching housing, jobs, health services, legal advice, domestic services, document translation, etc
Somali Canadian Association of Niagara Peninsula is a community-based non profit organization providing a wide range of much needed services to the somali ethnic community. The organization was established in early 2020 to meet the needs and concerns of Somali Canadians. Our aim is to help improve the quality of life for somalis as well as other african immigrants. SCANP is a connecting point between somalis of different ages and social status.
